Matthew Halton and St. Michael's schools were the site of the Westwind Post Season volleyball tournament, which was held on Saturday, November 10.

In the Girls draw Matthew Halton's Hawks started out well, defeating Kainai 3 sets to 1, but were knocked out of contention by Willow Creek's WCCHS Cobras in the quarter finals.  St. Michael's Dragons beat JT Foster 3 sets to 1 in the quarter finals, but were eliminated by the Cobras in the semi finals.  The Livingstone Sabres put up a great fight against the Crowsnest Pandas in the quarter finals, with the Pandas ultimately winning three sets of five.  The FP Walshe Flyers Girls came into the tournament ranked first, and left the same way after beating the Cobras in three hard-played and fairly close sets. Flyers coach Mark Perry was obviously pleased with his team.  "The girls did really well," he said.  The bits and pieces are really coming together this week."  Four members of the Flyers Girls were named as Allstars of the tournament.  "Most of my girls in Grade 11, so we have one more year with them.  They worked hard, and they have lots of potential.  I couldn't be happier for them than I am right now."

In the Boys draw FP Walshe Flyers rolled over the competition.  In the final game against the Crowsnest Panthers the Flyers dominated the first set.  The Panthers held their own in the following 2 sets, but the Flyers came out the winners in three straight sets.
