Tournaments are going great guns here at Whispering Winds. A Crib tournament was held with Dave coming in first, Jacquie second and Edith coming in third by the grace of a card cut.
The horses are racing every Thursday evening at 7:00 pm. I hear a bit of grouching and a bit of gloating, but taking everything in stride, all are having fun. If anyone is interested see Dave for all the details.
Shuffle board has started up with quite a number of seniors showing an interest. The game is scheduled for Thursday afternoon starting at 1:30 pm. For more info see Edith.
The exercise program is going great and I am amazed at how many seniors can touch their toes. Wow, great work! It is so rewarding to see those that are in the program becoming more active and moving about with fluid grace.
This week will close out with a happy hour on Friday followed with Bingo and exercises and on Saturday a Bingo Challenge with great prizes. Sunday features ice cream at 3:00 pm. A Residents meeting on Monday the 28th at 1:30 pm will be followed by exercise at 3:00 pm, and checkers on Tuesday at 2:00 pm with exercise again at 3:00 pm. On the last day of November, Wednesday, Whispering Winds will host a Crib Carnival at 1:00 pm and exercise at 3:00 pm. Stay tuned for updates to these events.
A very special thank you to Fernie for sending their Cook, Keith, down to help us out, we tried to hijack him but were not successful. We enjoyed the meals Keith prepared for us and would welcome him back any time. Thanks again.
Another special thanks has to go out to Lora, our cleaning lady, among other activities she does a very good job and we appreciate her efforts, openness, flexibility and smiles.
Until December: Take care.
