Two Pandas hand heartbreak to Hawks

The Halton B Girls faced their arch rivals the Crowsnest Pandas 1 and 2 teams in 5 sets of fast paced volleyball on Thursday, October 27 at the Matthew Halton gym.

In their first two sets the Hawks face the CNP 1 team, and the first game set the rhythm for most of the evening.  Both teams demonstrated a lot of energy and team spirit.  The Pandas took the first set 17-25, largely on superior serves.  The Hawks bounced back in the second set, with the score remaining close throughout, but once again the Panda 2 team emerged victorious by a score of 26-28 to take the match.

In their next three sets, the Hawks were up agains the CNP 2 team.  The first set was another close one, with the score staying very close to the bitter end.  The Hawks ended up with their first and only victory of the evening, winning the set 25-23.  Their spirit didn't seem to flag after that, but their energy levels certainly did, and the Pandaswon the next two sets by the definitive scores of 16-25 and 7-25 to take the match.  The CNP 2 team earned their victory the hard way, going hard at the ball even if it meant taking a few bumps along the way.
