MERLE RAE UNRUH
Merle Rae Unruh was born on January 8, 1963 – the New Year's Baby in Pincher Creek, AB, while his family lived in the Porcupine Hills for a short time. He departed this life suddenly on September 21st, 2014 reached the young age of fifty one years after a short but intense battle with pneumonia.
He spent happy childhood years moving from Lundbreck to Salmon Arm, B.C., Linden, A.B. And back to Pincher Creek, where he spent the rest of his life. He gave his heart to God in his youth and had a strong faith in Him. He married me, Lorraine Toews, on July 14, 1985. We had a wonderful marriage for just over 29 years. We were blessed with 3 wonderful children who were his pride and joy from little on up. He loved life. He loved the outdoors. He loved to work, and easily made many friends with all of his associates. In 1998, he together with his brother-in-law Jeff Dejax founded Superform. Long hours were spent making this project happen, and Merle put his all into that business until the day he died. We have so many wonderful memories and will miss him so much.
Left to cherish precious memories are his loving wife, Lorraine, children: Jason and Clarissa, Julie and Joel Smith, Keelan and Jessica, all of Pincher Creek.
A Funeral service was held at the Foothills Gospel Church (1200 Ken Thornton Blvd.) in Pincher Creek,AB on Thursday September 25 at 1:30 p.m.
We want to give a heart felt thank-you to Dr. Dewitt for his urgent thorough care and also the staff at ICU at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital for their efforts.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Windy Slopes Health Foundation, Pincher Creek Hospital.
