Leduc RCMP requesting public assistance in locating suspect at large David Hauser


Suspect at large David Hauser

Leduc RCMP are looking for the public's assistance in locating 26 year old David Joseph HAUSER. HAUSER was last seen on January 7th, 2014 at 8:37 a.m., when he was involved in an altercation with another male and female. HAUSER was on conditions from a previous altercation and now has a warrant issued for his arrest.

RCMP believe that HAUSER may still be in the Leduc / Edmonton area and would like the public’s help in locating him. All attempts to locate HAUSER have been unsuccessful at this time.
HAUSER is described as Caucasian, 180cm tall, about 105kg, with brown hair and brown eyes. HAUSER has a small scar on his left index finger and a family name tattooed on his chest. HAUSER is described as having a light to fair complexion but no other noticeable characteristics.

RCMP Red Deer City seeks public assistance in identifying bank break-in suspect

Red Deer City RCMP is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in a break-in at the TD Bank at 5001 19 Street in Red Deer, Alberta. Several images of the suspect were captured by video surveillance.


At approximately 7:00 am on January 13, Red Deer City RCMP were called to attend a reported break and enter at the TD Bank. The break-in occurred at approximately 3:30 am when the suspect pried open the door separating the ATM (cash machine) from the rest of the bank, setting off the security alarm. The suspect moved through the bank but was not successful in locating or leaving with any valuables.

RCMP Red Deer City seeks public assistance to identify theft suspect

Red Deer City RCMP is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in two separate thefts that occurred in the afternoon and evening of December 22 in Red Deer, Alberta. In both thefts, images of the suspect were captured by video surveillance.

At approximately 5:30 pm on December 22, a male entered the Husky gas station located at 3929 39 Street. The male collected beverages and asked for cigarettes, then pretended to pay for them with a credit card. While the cashier was using the debit machine, the suspect grabbed the bag of items and ran from the store. He left the scene in a white truck that was parked next to one of the pumps.

Later the same day, at approximately 11:00 pm, the same male suspect entered the Express 24 located at 88 Howarth Street. He asked for a carton of cigarettes and attempted to pay for them with a debit card. When the card was declined, the male took the cigarettes and left the store, leaving the scene in a white Ford F-150 extended cab truck.

The suspect is described as:
  • Approximately 5’11” tall
  • Slim build
  • With facial hair
  • Wearing glasses

RCMP arrest and charge Michael Johnson; Update on injured RCMP officer

On January 14, 2014, RCMP Edmonton Major Crimes Unit have arrested and charged Michael Leslie Johnson, a 33-year-old male, following a series of incidents which occurred at a rural property near Vegreville, Alberta on January 6, 2014. Johnson has not spoken to bail and has been remanded in custody while receiving medical attention. He is to appear in Vegreville Provincial Court on January 27, 2014.

Johnson has been charged with 36 offences, including: four counts of attempt murder with a firearm on four RCMP officers; break and enter of a dwelling house; resist arrest; operate a motor vehicle in a manner that was dangerous to the public and thereby caused bodily harm, as well as several other related charges.

The RCMP officer who was severely injured has been release from hospital, is recovering at home and is said to be in good spirits.

"With the laying of charges there is relief among our members, their spouses, and the law enforcement community in general," says Chief Superintendent McGinnis, Eastern Alberta District Commander. "When a member of our community is injured in the line of duty, we all feel it. I would like to thank the communities of Tofield, Vegreville and Two Hills for their overwhelming compassion and support of their RCMP members. The support we have all received from across Alberta and Canada has been very up lifting and for this I say, 'Thank You'."

An independent review of the incident that took place on January 6, 2013 is underway by the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT). The RCMP will not be providing further comment on the details of the incident or the investigation.

Home Invasion and Residential Break and Enters in Airdrie Rural

On January 14, 2014, Airdrie Rural RCMP were dispatched to a home invasion in Delacour, Alberta, South East of Airdrie. A suspect male entered the home, and gained control of the single male occupant in the residence who was in the home at the time. He proceeded to steal jewelry and cash monies from the residence and fled the scene in a small passenger vehicle, Silver in color, possibly an Acura.

The suspect male is described as Caucasian, height of 6'-6'2", approximately 210-240 lbs, Muscular build, short brown hair styled in a faux hawk, and was wearing running shoes, Orange tint aviator type sunglasses, Blue jeans, t-shirt (Ed Hardy or similar type with designs).

Two more break and enters to residences were also reported in the rural area on January 14, 2014 and January 15, 2014. It is unknown at this time if they are related. All occurrences are still under investigation.

Rural residential Break and Enters in Cypress County

On January 14, 2014 at approximately 8:00pm, members of the Redcliff RCMP detachment responded to a break and enter to a rural residence approximately 5 kilometres south of Medicine Hat in Cypress County. The unknown suspect broke into a residence on an acreage however nothing was taken .

On January 16, 2014 at approximately 7:30pm Redcliff RCMP members responded to a break and enter to a rural residence approximately 2 kilometres southwest of Medicine Hat in the vicinity of highway 3 in Cypress County. The suspect made off with an amount of money from the residence.

Airdrie marijuana grow operation investigation leads to significant drug seizure

On January 14, 2014, Airdrie RCMP Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) along with the Southern Alberta Green Team, Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit, Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team and Airdrie RCMP Detachment members completed a Marihuana Grow Operation investigation in the Luxstone area of Airdrie, Alberta. A search warrant was executed on the residence by members, and a sophisticated 72 plant marihuana grow operation was located in the basement, with a street value of $90,000. In addition, approximately 66 pounds of harvested marihuana was located in the residence and seized, a street value of $165,000.00 - $198,000.00.

Gregory HULBERT from Calgary, Alberta was subsequently arrested without incident and is facing multiple charges including Production of Cannabis Marihuana, Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of Proceeds of Crime.

Search warrant leads to drug seizure in High Level

On Wednesday January 15, 2014 members of the High Level-Mackenzie Region Crime Reduction Unit, High Level RCMP, and the High Level Police Dog Section executed a search warrant at a residence in the 10300 block of 98 Avenue in High Level. During the search a quantity of cocaine and items related to drug trafficking were seized. As a result, a 50 year old High Level woman will face a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking.

This search is part of the High Level-Mackenzie Region Crime Reduction Unit's ongoing efforts targeting drug traffickers.

Charges laid in October Millet area rollover

The Wetaskiwin RCMP has arrested and charged 22 year old Cree Roan OMEASOO, of Maskwacis, AB, in relation to a fatal single vehicle rollover that occurred in the early morning hours of October 6th, 2013, north of Millet, AB.

OMEASOO was arrested and charged on January 15th, 2014 with the following offences:
  • Two counts of Impaired driving causing death, contrary to Section 255 (3) of the Criminal Code.
  • Two counts of Impaired driving causing bodily harm, contrary to Section 255 (2) of the Criminal Code.
  • Two counts of Dangerous driving causing death, contrary to Section 249 (4) of the Criminal Code.
  • Three counts of Dangerous driving causing bodily harm, contrary to Section 249 (3) of the Criminal Code. 
  • Two counts of Impaired operation over .80 mg% of a motor vehicle causing death, contrary to Section 255 (3.1) of the Criminal Code.
  • Three counts of Impaired operation over .80 mg% of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm, contrary to Section 255 (2.1) of the Criminal Code.
  • Two counts of Fail to comply with a blood demand causing death, contrary to Section 255 (3.2) of the Criminal Code.
  • Three counts of Fail to comply with a blood demand causing bodily harm, contrary to Section 255 (2.2) of the Criminal Code. 

OMEASOO was brought before a Justice of the Peace and remains in custody. She is scheduled to make her first court appearance on January 16th, 2014 at 9:30 am in Wetaskiwin, AB.

Background October 6th, 2013: At approximately, 1:30 am, Sunday morning, RCMP in Wetaskiwin were dispatched to a single vehicle rollover on Highway 2A, north of Millet, AB. The vehicle, which was traveling southbound, apparently lost control and rolled in the ditch on the east side of the road. Two of the six occupants, of the vehicle, were pronounced deceased at the scene and two occupants were transported via STARS air ambulance in critical condition. The remaining occupants were taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
