Pincher Creek's Matthew Halton Girls JV and Senior Hawks hosted their J.T. Foster Raiders counterparts on Wednesday evening, October 9.

JV Game
The JV teams played first.  Hawks automatically forfeited the game because they have Senior girls playing to fill the JV roster, but they played the game for the experience and fun of it.  It also allows JV teams from other towns a chance to play. The Hawks did outscore the JV Raiders 25 - 18, 25 - 21, and 15 - 6.

JV Raiders vs Hawks

The JV Hawks are improving a great deal.  They are communicating better on the court and the girls are covering their territory more consistently.

Notably, Hawks #11 Danika showed that she is willing to step up to the mark.  She is ready to dive for the ball and work for her team.  Raiders #5 Alexi Lively  kept up encouraging chatter throughout the game, and showed competence and confidence throughout.

Senior game
The Senior teams took to the court after the JV's were done.  For the Hawks, that meant many of the same players were facing a fresh set of Raiders.  Only three sets were played, with the Raiders winning the match 3 - 0.

The Raiders work for their wins in all three sets.  They won the first set 25 - 18.  The three most senior members of the Hawks are Alyssa Barbero, Dakota Van Loon and Raelyn Rutledge.  These three  are all playing together well and are each fine athletes in their own right.  On the Raiders side of the net #12 Alaina Hill demonstrated a powerful and well controlled serve.

The next two sets were a exhibition of skill with the two teams neck-and-neck, tying the score multiple times,  making for an exciting game to watch and play.  The Raiders won the second set by a 26 - 24 margin, and the third set was equally close, the Raiders ultimately winning it  27 - 25.
