"I didn't really get into it until I was in my 30's," said MacIntyre, when asked how long she's been taking photographs. "I love it."

"I love portraits, though. I do like taking pictures of peoples faces. I love that the best. I like taking pictures of animals and wildlife too, but I love taking pictures of people."
She credits Janelle Jorgenson for encouraging her to enter the contest. "She was showing me her awesome pictures, and I was excited for her. Then she said 'You put some in, go do it.' " MacIntyre submitted her photos one hour before the competition closed. She said she certainly didn't expect to win.
"I was surprised, because there a lot of really great pictures there."
In the recent past Gayle was very busy running around town donating her time to Pincher Creek's soccer and football teams, taking group and individual portraits for them.
