Volunteers needed in Pincher Creek, Fort Macleod, and Taber health facilities

Alberta Health Services (AHS) is looking for volunteers to fill positions in the Pincher Creek, Fort Macleod, and Taber Health Centres. Volunteer opportunities include:

Pincher Creek Health Centre
Bereavement Volunteers
One or two volunteers are needed to send a comforting message to bereaved families on behalf of AHS. Volunteers assist home care and palliative care teams by checking weekly for referrals, sending a sympathy card to bereaved families and following up with a supportive phone call two weeks later. Orientation and training is provided. Times are flexible.

Games Volunteer
We’re looking for volunteers who enjoy playing checkers, cribbage, board games and Wii to come have fun with residents. Times are flexible.

Do you like discussing politics and local/world news? This is a great opportunity for people who enjoy talking about current events, visiting and reading the Taber Times with residents. Volunteers are needed Wednesday mornings for 30-60 minutes.
